Sonya Bayly

I’m Sonya a mother of three girls who was born and raised in Hawke's Bay. I'm a registered midwife and have a postgraduate diploma in Health Care.  I believe it's my responsibility to facilitate the pregnancy and birthing experience you desire, whether this is your first or subsequent pregnancy they are all unique, which allows me to provide tailored care to meet your individual needs.

I'm passionate about advocating for women who are wishing to birth at home, in Waioha, a water birth, or if you require secondary care, I work closely alongside other health professionals in hospital to ensure a safe outcome for you and your baby. I work with Johanna Murphy in a shared care practice who shares the same philosophy of care as myself.

I look forward to meeting you and your family in our new room located here at Ultrasound Hawkes Bay, and allowing you to create a birth plan that reflects your values and needs.

Johanna Murphy

I have been a midwife for 8 years. I have three children. I work in close partnership with Sonya Bayly who shares the same Philosophy & we're qualified to offer free acupuncture to our women if they choose it. Whether this is your first or subsequent pregnancy, I believe that each journey is a unique & personal experience, shaped by your individual wants & needs.

It is my duty as a midwife to work alongside each woman & her family to ensure the best possible pregnancy, birth & postnatal experience. This includes working in partnership with other health professionals (when required) to ensure a safe outcome for you & your baby.

I take a small caseload of women per month, which enables me to provide quality of care. I have completed a postgraduate Dip in Healthcare. Over the last five years I have been in charge of the Day Assessment Unit at the Hospital which specialises in high risk pregnancies.

HeadsUp Neuropsychology and Biofeedback

Dr. Joni Howard

I returned home to Havelock North with my family in 2020, after studying and working in Seattle for over a decade.

I am registered in both clinical psychology and clinical neuropsychology, specialising in assessment and treatment of cognitive concerns seen in injuries, neurodevelopmental conditions, and neurodegenerative conditions (e.g.  head injury, ADHD, dementia).

In addition, I see patients for treatment of psychological conditions, such as depression and anxiety/trauma, and I use biofeedback training to help individuals to gain better control and awareness over their bodies and minds.

Overall, I provide a holistic care approach that combines compassion for lived experiences with careful objective testing. This approach helps me develop sound, comprehensive treatment plans.

If you have any further questions, I would love to chat to see if I would be a good fit for you and your needs.
