Meet the Ultrasound Hawke's Bay Team
Jody Dawson
NZMRTB / ASAR N.D.M.D.I / Grad.Dip.Med. Sonography
Jody qualified as a Radiographer in 1996 from Auckland Unitec with hands on training at Auckland Public Hospital. He then moved to Gippsland, Victoria in the late 1990s where he started an ultrasound traineeship, completing his Post Graduate Diploma in Sonography in the early 2000s.
For the next twenty years he continued to expand on his knowledge and expertise in various roles including tutoring ultrasound students across local regional hospitals until a move to a management position in a private practice. Making the move home to New Zealand in 2020 the idea to open their own practice was born.
Jody is well regarded in his field, with a friendly and caring nature going above and beyond for every one of his patients.
Rohana Dawson
BA Sociology
Rohana has 30 years in administration management roles and a Bachelors degree in Sociology. Together with a passion for good service and helping people, they wanted to provide an additional ultrasound service in the Bay. Her role as practice manager is vital to the smooth running of the clinic and her warmth and passion for their clients is evident.
They love giving back to the community. We are sponsors of the Magpies and their preferred ultrasound clinic. We donate to charity and sponsor the Department of Conservation Kakapo breeding program.
As well as living in the Village, in their spare time they always have music playing, enjoy travelling, love a great movie, hiking and attempting to catch fish - not to mention Jody does enjoy a spot of golf.
Aislinn McNamara
Trainee Sonographer
Aislinn completed her Bachelors degree in Biomedical Science at The University of Auckland in 2022 before moving to Hawkes Bay.
Aislinn says after graduating, I wanted to pursue a career that would allow me to make a difference within my community and help others.
This prompted me to begin my Ultrasound journey in 2023, which has lead me to the wonderful opportunity to train under Jody and the team at Ultrasound Hawkes Bay.
In my spare time I love to cook, bake, the occasional DIY project, and listen to country music.
I can’t wait to meet all of the lovely clients who visit the clinic, and dive into my career as a Sonographer.
Fiona Mackay
Medical Administrator
Fiona has lived in the Bay since moving from Scotland when she was 20 years old. She has two children, Oliver and Paige, along with their much loved family dog Willow. Fiona has a friendly and helpful attitude making patients feel relaxed and welcome when they attend the clinic.
Tom MacKenzie (Locum) - MIA till he returns
Sonographer
Graduated from Monash University in 2012 with a Bachelor of Radiography and Medical imaging. Tom then went on to further train and graduate with a Graduate diploma of Medical Sonography from University of South Australia in 2017.
